Even a Broken Clock

Sepp Blatter's comments, while technically correct, are a perfect example of the lack of vision that has plagued his tenure as FIFA president

The Poetic Game by Michael E. Quigg - combining soccer and poetry

'Tis a monumental task before you

The scope of its demands beyond daunting

The weight of obligation staggering

Those that could handle its burden are few

But you are not seeing this with clear view

There are simple things you should understand

Like the diff'rence 'tween a seedling and oak

We are not Europe! This, we thought you knew

Recreating what organically grew

Promises sowers will not be reapers

Your seeds of impatience will not sway us

To our sacred mission, we remain true

Our time to rule the day is not yet due

When it comes, the rewards will not be yours

This, above all, you should understand too
